Illusive Comics & Games and Isle of Gamers are the premier comic book and tabletop game stores in the Silicon Valley.
Our hours are 11a-7p at Illusive and 12p-6p at Isle, year-round. We are a very COVID-safe environment.
We are currently hiring for one staffer to work with us as a sales clerk throughout the week, including Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Applicants should have at least 1 year Retail Experience.
Required skills:
• Be very focused and able to stay task-oriented
• Communicate with fellow staff and management team
• Be very friendly and outgoing, but able to manage not being too talkative with customers and co-workers
• Be able to multi-task and follow through on To Do lists, re-prioritizing frequently
• An ability to work in stressful, busy situations
• Experienced and comfortable with Semi-Modern Technology: Google Drive, Point of Sales (POS) systems, etc.
• Be able to lift and carry boxes up to 30 pounds
Preferred skills:
• Sense of humor
• OCD-tendencies regarding neatness and organization
• A knowledge of Magic: the Gathering, D&D and boardgames or Current comic storylines.
While we have no in-store gaming presently due to COVID, once it is safe to do so, the staff will need to be able to work with crowds, make connections with our gamers and help grow our environment of casual and fun gaming, openly welcoming and safe for Women and LGBTQ+.
Compensation: Minimum wage in Santa Clara is presently $15.65 per hour.
